GENERAL CARE GUIDE

Look after your HIKR gear and it’ll keep roaming with you for longer.

Most HIKR pieces are designed for everyday wear, outdoor wandering, slow weekends, trail days, travel, layering and everything in between. A little care goes a long way - helping your garments hold their shape, colour, print and feel while reducing unnecessary waste.

WASH COOLER

Wash at 30°C where possible.

Cooler washes are kinder to your clothing, use less energy, and help protect prints, colours and fabric fibres over time.

WASH INSIDE OUT

Turn garments inside out before washing.

This helps protect printed, embroidered or detailed areas from unnecessary friction in the machine.

WASH WITH SIMILAR COLOURS

Wash darks, lights and colours separately where needed.

Natural cotton garments and darker colours may release a little dye during early washes, so keeping colours together helps avoid unwanted colour transfer.

AVOID HARSH DETERGENTS

Use a mild detergent where possible.

Avoid bleach, strong stain removers or harsh chemicals, as these can damage fabric, affect colours and reduce the life of printed details.

SKIP THE TUMBLE DRYER

Air dry wherever you can.

Tumble drying can cause shrinkage, fading and extra wear on the fabric. Hanging or laying your garment flat to dry is gentler and helps it last longer.

DO NOT IRON PRINTS DIRECTLY

If ironing is needed, iron inside out on a low setting.

Avoid ironing directly over printed graphics, embroidery, labels or raised details.

GIVE IT SPACE TO DRY

Let your garments dry fully before folding or storing.

This helps avoid damp smells, creasing and unnecessary fabric stress.

TREAT STAINS EARLY

If something marks your garment, treat it as soon as possible.

Gently blot or rinse the area before washing. Avoid scrubbing printed areas too hard, as this can damage the surface.

EXPECT NATURAL CHANGES

Organic cotton and natural fabrics may soften, settle and change slightly with wear and washing.

That’s part of the character of a garment that’s made to be worn, not left untouched.

CARE IS PART OF THE JOURNEY

The longer your clothing lasts, the less waste it creates.

Choosing well, washing carefully and wearing often all helps reduce the need for unnecessary replacements.

BEFORE YOU WASH

This care guide is general advice for the HIKR range as a whole. Different products, fabrics, prints, finishes and garment styles may have slightly different care needs.

For the most accurate guidance, always check the individual product page and follow the care label on the garment itself once it arrives.

When in doubt: wash gently, avoid excess heat, and help your HIKR gear keep roaming for longer.

If you’re unsure about how to care for a specific item, drop us a message before washing and we’ll be happy to help.
